Electrical Fixed Wire Testing

Here at Electromech Contracts Ltd, we provide a full Testing and Inspection service by test engineers fully qualified to City + Guilds 2391. The tests are carried out to ensure that all electrical components of an electrical installation are inspected and tested for strength, integrity and compliance with the IEE Regulations.

As we are regulated by the NICEIC, Electromech Contracts has to ensure that all tests are carried out correctly and in full, and that all electrical circuits and outlets within the premises are in good working order and that any damaged outlets or faulty circuits are recorded and noted within your test record pack.
All electrical apparatus in your property is subject to ageing, damage, wear and tear, corrosion, overloading. The electrical tests are there to ensure that all circuits and apparatus comply to BS:7671 (2018), and that your property is electrically sound.

Our Testing Engineers are qualified to the latest 18th Edition Electrical Regulations.

Tests That Are Carried Out

Visual Check of Electrical Installation

Including checks of Connection of Conductors, Fault Protection check, Methods of protection against electric shock e.t.c.

Earth Continuity Test

To check that there is continuity from point on electrical circuit back to origin.

Insulation Resistance

To confirm the integratory of cables, and that there is no high resistance between conductors and also earth.

Polarity

To ensure that all switches are wired within the Live conductor, and operate correctly.

External Earth Impedance

To ensure that there is a correct earth path from the point on the electrical installation, which falls within set values. Including Earth Electrode Resistance tests if required.

RCD and Functional Tests

To ensure correct functionality of Safety Protective devices installed within Electrical Installation.

New Installation
Periodic Testing and Inspection (Electrical Installation Condition Report)

On Completion of a new installation, a full Inspection and Test is carried out on all circuits. Electromech Contracts is covered under the Part P regulations and work carried out in Domestic Premises is submitted to Building Control.

Periodic Testing and Inspection is carried out to ensure that all circuits in your property are electrically safe and impose no danger to persons, property or livestock. During periodic testing and inspection, all boards and circuits shall be identified and labelled so as for ease of maintenance and fault finding. Any defective circuits or damaged outlets shall be recorded and noted down within your test records, these will have to be rectified prior to Installation being deemed safe.
